Global leading line of medical-grade honey products for the management of wounds and burns.

MEDIHONEY® is an advanced wound care dressing that is supported by over 160 pieces of evidence demonstrating its clinical ability to promote the removal of necrotic tissue and advance a wound toward healing. In a randomized controlled trial, the mean healing time was significantly faster for wounds treated with MEDIHONEY® impregnated dressings when compared to conventional dressings4.

History of honey use in wound care
Honey has been used in wound healing for centuries. Evidence for its’ wide range of medicinal use has been found in ancient writings such as the Edwin Smith Papyrus in the 17th century BC. Honey was used during World War I and II. Only in the last decade have microbiologists begun to understand the uniqueness of the Leptospermum species.
